SITE UPDATE 21.11.2000
Dear friend
This is an important week for the campaign as the meeting is due to be held on either this
Friday 24 November, or next Monday 27 November. After eight months and as many days of delaying tactics,
this is Stancliffe's last chance. Depending on the outcome, there could be an eviction of the site (but
only if it goes against us, and then only if the logistical nightmare caused by the recent heavy rain can be
resolved). Of course, if the decision is that Stancliffe can't quarry the moor, then everyone can pack up
and leave.
With the recent planning decision and the survey work still going ahead, things are looking generally
positive. Obviously we should be prepared to think the unthinkable, so by now you should have set up
telephone trees to warn people in the event of an eviction - there is an article explaining this on the web
site here. Please don't e-mail us any lists of numbers - it's supposed
to be decentralised!
See you soon with news from the meeting,
