SITE UPDATE 04.09.2000

Dear friend

First things first: hello to all new members and sorry if your "welcome" message took a while to arrive. Nothing broken this time, just Your Humble Correspondent taking a few days' well-earned break.

We also have a few new photos in the gallery. You may have seen these already, as we didn't manage to get a mailshot sent out as soon as we uploaded them - sorry about that one. Normal Service is being resumed.

So what's been happeming on site? Well, the answer so far seems to be "not a great deal". In fact, if this were the news on the telly there would probably now be a story about some local eccentric or an animal with party trick, and the presenters would be making banter and comments between stories to compensate for the lack of real news. The camp is still active. People are coming and going, and the Main Residential Area has shifted. If you're planning a visit, head for the disused barn or "Ye Olde Englishe Hotel" as it has now been renamed, and Await Further Instructions. There are now also signs directing you towards the stones - you will pass a spring on the way and several dwellings.

The next things to look forward to are a party on site for the Equinox on 21 September, and Decision Time At Last on 30 September - more than six months after the original date. Then there's Samhain on 31 October. English Heritage should be starting their survey work sometime - we'll let you know when, as soon as we know when. Hopefully starting after the 21.09 and finishing before 31.10, but everything is dependent on complex logistics and the weather.
