Club Championships

The 4th Club Championships were held in October and November 2001 with the presentation evening taking place in January 2000. We plan to hold the event annually and when the details of this year's Championships have been finalised, they will be posted on the Notice Board.

Teacher Training

Each year the club organises various courses for volunteers and sponsors them to become qualified swimming instructors. Last year we organised a Rescue Test Course for 5 of our helpers and we sponsored several for ASA Teacher Courses. This year we are sponsoring 4 on an ASA Teacher Course and 5 on an ASA Assistant Teacher Course. We hope to also run a Rescue Test Course in the autumn.

Sponsorship

The major costs incurred by the club are associated with the hire of the pools, payment to the chief coach ( when appointed), ASA and league affiliation fees, transport and trophies - these amount to about £50 000 per year. Our main source of funds to cover these costs are from the annual membership, swim fees and the learn to swim fees. Any donation or sponsorship is, therefore, most welcome as it allows the club to keep the swim fees to a sensible level. We are pleased to announce that the club has received a sum of £2000 from the Harold Adams Trust Fund for the purchase of medals/trophies for the Club Championship.
