Children attending the Learn to Swim Classes are not members of the swimming club. Our classes provide a full range of swimming skills which allows progression to the entry standard for the club. As a general rule we take children from the age of 5 years, though an earlier age is possible if the children are accustomed to the water. Instruction for beginners is by helpers being in the water with the children allowing them to become confident by playing and enjoying themselves.

As they become more able they progress to group instruction across the width of the pool.
Classes are for 30 minutes duration and take place at the Stourport Sports Centre on Saturday mornings 8.30am-9.00am and also on Sunday mornings 8.00am-8.30am and 8.30am-9.00am.
The fees are charged on a monthly basis, which may be by Standing Order or Cash/Cheque on the first weekend of each month.
The size of the class at each teaching station is small and tuition is by highly experienced, qualified staff.

Two Development Groups form the teaching section of the club. Both groups are of the same standard and cater for children from the age of 7 to 12 years. The main objective of these groups is to build a foundation of SKILL and ENDURANCE, allowing a smooth progression to the competitive section of the club. It is very important to emphasise that children should not be pushed into advanced swimming disciplines too soon - the process should be gradual and enjoyable.
Classes are at the Stourport Sports Centre at the following times:-
Group A
Thursday evenings 7.30pm-8.15pm and Sunday mornings 8.00am-9.00am
Group B
Friday evenings 7.30pm-8.05pm and Saturday mornings 7.30-8.30am
