BLACK PRINCE

I must admit I don't know an awful lot about the above mentioned operator perhaps that has something to do with the fact I live in Scotland and Black Prince operates in Morley (Leeds). Below are some pictures which have been taken with permission from MALCS BUS AND COACH PAGE on the enthusiasts list on the busweb. So thanks to Malcolm Stitch for his kindness.

So below are some Photos which may be of interest and a website that may be of interest is www.busweb.co.uk/yorkshirerider this site has news etc of bus operation in the Yorkshire area.

One of Black Princes Alexander bodied Scanias in Infirmary street on service 63B.

Another Scania this time on route 54 also on infirmary street.

The ex-Tayside Routemaster in the livery of Black Prince.

One of several Black Prince Leyland Nationals resting at it's depot quite a while ago. These are now withdrawn.

One of the newer aditions to the fleet is this East Lancs bodied Scania.

One of the Ailsas which were fairly popular before the Scanias took over. The scanias took over from the Ailsas due to the fact that Black Prince had a run in with the traffic commisioner about the safety of the Ailsas

Another East Lancs bodied Scania taking up service 53.

Another Scania this time with Marshall body work. I believe that this bus has been withdrawn due to fire damage.

A Marshall Bodied Scania BD112 at a narrow part of route 54.

And another RM in the depot but showing service 63B on the destination blind.

M.C.W Metrorider taking the day off in the depot this is now withdrawn and has been replaced with a brand new example.

An ex-Stagecoach Manchester Northern Counties Bodied Scania BD112.

Alexander Bodied Scania stops to pick up a healthy load of passengers.

Getting rare on the streets now is MetroScania Metropolitan this has been withdrawn a long time ago .

Another MetroScania resting in it's depot before withdrawel and just behind it is the also withdrawn Bristol Recovery vehicle standing by for a breakdown.
