A DIFFERENT BEAT was formed in 1999 with the aim of providing opportunities for Deaf people and
to raise awareness in the wider community of Deaf people. Setting out to share BSL in an enjoyable
and unique manner, through performing popular songs and dance routines, alongside supporting the
campaign to recognise BSL as an official language in the UK.

All proceeds from the sale of this video will be used to provide further opportunities for Deaf
people in the future.
This video was produced as a lasting refrence to Deaf Culture and British Sign Language (BSL). It centres
on a special Celebration Evening attended by over 500 people at which a comprehensive performance
of Signed Song and Dance was delivered by a group of Deaf teenagers from Walsall.
Their message to you is adopted from the Federation of Deaf People's statement that "Deaf People
can do anything but hear."
