Introduction

WDPC was established on 1st June 1946. Prior to this time the original part of the building was a church mission for Deaf people administered by the Diocese of Lichfield.
The building is Grade 2 listed and is situated in a conservation area. Since 1946 many changes have been made to the building including the opening of the Sports & Social Club Bar in 1981.
WDPC is the focal point for the Deaf Community in Walsall, providing a range of activities and services which include:
- bar & social club
- senior citizens club
- youth club
- tinnitus group
- British Sign Language training
- Deaf Awareness training
- Deaf/Blind communication training
