There are probably more nude beaches in Spain, per kilometer of coastline, than in any other country of the world. Topless bathing is accepted on almost every tourist beach. In addition to the Spanish mainland beaches, there are also a great many nude beaches around the Balearic Islands, which comprise Menorca, Majorca (Mallorca), Ibiza and most notably Formentera, which is a paradise for nude sunbathing. |
There are a great many nude beaches scattered around the Canary Islands too, and these islands are also Spanish territory, despite being situated off the coast of Africa. The main islands comprise Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. The largest nude beaches in Europe are probably those on Fuerteventura, although the nudist area around the huge sand dunes of Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, is equally spectacular. |
