Over the years, she became affectionately known as The Sea Queen of a Thousand Islands and, as she lay on her deathbed, The Maker was informed of her good deeds. To honour her, she was immortalised as a star, and given the task of visiting all of the Planets, to spread her message of 'Peace and Goodwill' to all'.

Throughout ancient time, she did such good work that The Maker finally decided that she should rest, and created other stars to continue her work. Her name is still remembered today, being only slightly changed, by time and tongue, from 'Sea Queen Star' to 'Sequin Star'.

So, if you see a dress or blouse with sparkling sequins, glinting like stars in the heavens, and bringing beauty and pleasure to your eyes, remember 'The Sea Queen of a Thousand Islands'.

Focus on the colourful sparkles, then close your eyes, and recount this legend.

Only then will you truly understand, why a plain and simple sequin, flat, bent or twisted, can, at the right time and in the right place, flash and sparkle, as brightly as the most perfect of diamonds.
