 North Waltham is approximately 80kms. from London and it is easy to go
there by train for the day. The train goes to Waterloo Station in London
from Basingstoke and takes about 50 minutes.
Historic Winchester, with its famous cathedral, is only
20kms. away, and the busy town of Basingstoke, with shops, offices,
cinemas and good sporting facilities is 10kms. away. There are many other
interesting places to visit including Salisbury, Stonehenge, Guildford,
Windsor Castle and
towns by the sea like Southampton, Portsmouth and Bournemouth. All are
within an easy car drive, which I can arrange for you. The area is famous for its lovely rivers and
countryside, old houses and good pubs, and you can visit historic houses
and beautiful gardens. The famous author Jane Austen was born very near
here and you can see the house where she lived, which is now a museum. |
