It seemed when the
last Robin, a Special Robin 65 model, rolled out of the doors on February 14th 2001 that this would be the last ever Reliant Robin to be made.
Enter B&N Plastics. After negotiations with Reliant Cars Ltd we will now
continue to make the Reliant Robin under licence to Reliant with its new name ... The Reliant Robin BN-1. We have taken the specifications of the original Robin 65 and used them as a base model for our new vehicle.
In addition we have also made a number of modifications to the Robin that include a re-engineered gear box and axle to increase overall performance. We also have a few “first” for the Robin that includes a new
sunroof on every model and a new dashboard and centre console replacing a basic design that has been in use since the original 1973 model was launched. Along with the new dashboard and centre console the rest of the
interior is new including the door trims. Unlike the old dash components the new ones are created by vacuum forming rather than by using injection moulding. A Reliant Robin BN-2 is also available and features
additional extras that include exclusive light reactive paint and electric windows.
The mechanics of the Reliant Robin BN-1 and BN-2 are to the same high standards as on the original Robins as Reliant Cars Ltd are supplying the
complete rolling chassis of the Robin along with other mechanical parts. B&N Plastics are then building the rest of the vehicle to the new specifications on their premises in Suffolk. UK.
The new Reliant Robins will be the best yet and we aim to raise the popularity and opinions of a great British vehicle that we feel sure will
continue to thrive for many years to come.
