Online Courses, Seminars and Workshops
The USIS EFL Fellow Program has begun (as of April, 1997) a series of
hands-on online courses, seminars and workshops for teachers and administrators
of non-commercial EFL programs. The courses in Kyiv are run in conjunction
with the International Science Foundation and take place at the Open
Society Institute's Regional Internet Program Site.
Reservations for all courses are mandatory. Contact Lilia
Shilo at lilia@ah.kiev.ua or call
the numbers below to check on dates and to reserve a place in one of the
courses or to find about about upcoming on-site workshops and seminars
throughout Ukraine.
Each of the online courses provides training with:

Internet tools such as Gopher and Telnet

Browsers and search engines

Pedagogic applications of new technologies and how to integrate online
resources into existing curricula

Distance Education

How to have fun with new technologies, make contacts worldwide, and discover
the virtually-unlimited resources available to learners and teachers online.

EFL Fellow Liaisons in Ukraine over the years have been involved

conferences and courses such as the two-week Summer
Institutes on Current Methods and Practices in TESOL (in its fifth
year!);

undergraduate and graduate levels;

the establishment and strengthening of professional networks and affiliations.
