18/19 October 2002 Jamboree on the Air. JOTA This is the largest world-wide activity in the international Scouting programme and attracts more than 500,000 participanats each year. If you are hoping to participate then now is the time to start planning - as Scout groups set-out their autumn programmes. Make sure you send your application for a special callsign in good time to the RSGB (and definitely no later than 19th September). If you are taking part for the first time you will find a full list of callsigns and locations used on the UK Radio Scouting website detailed below, which should help you when choosing an appropriate suffix for your Group. 20 July 2003 Lincoln Hamfest The first Hamfest was held at the Lincoln Technical College in 1923 now in 2003, some 80 years later we are going back to school, well, Lincoln University Sports Centre, Brayford Pool, Lincoln on Sunday 20 th. July 2003 from 10.30 to 5.30.We will have the usual attractions, Trade Stands, Bring & Buy, Small flee market, Morse Tests, Food and a Bar. As the University in the centre of Lincoln, the shopping centre is only a short walk away, or go for a boat ride on the Fosse canal which was navigated by the Romans and goes west from the port they built in Brayford Pool and was very busy with the wool trade.Contact John Middleton G8VGF 01522 525760
