Hercules was founded in 1904 as a bicycle manufacturer in Nuremberg. (Germany). The company also produced a number of commercial vehicles from 1906 - 1926 but it was not until 1932 that Hercules produced a 3-wheeler private car - The Hercules Coupe. The car was powered by a 200cc Ilo proprietary engine at the rear driving a single rear wheel and the body was made of steel housing two seats. Production of the vehicle ceased in 1933.
