My thanks for to Rich Richardson for these photographs of his "Red Car". Rich writes that he built the vehicle out:

... of 1/2" hardwood dowel and plywood. It is covered with dacron cloth  and painted with urethane. It had two speeds an 8 HP engine and would do 35  MPH. I also build a machine I call them Raptor recumbent trikes.  They are human powered three wheelers that weigh 42 pounds , have 15 speeds,  dual front brakes, and are great fun to ride. They replace my car most of the time. They are pleasant to take on a ten or twenty mile ride on the bike paths or just run to the market for groceries. Note the large basket in back for that purpose.

    Rich's E-mail address is: rich101@mindspring

Rich also has a Raptor Trike web site at: http://raptor2001.homestead.com/index2001b.html
