            FESTIVAL ART EXHIBITION in the Assembly Room, Downham Market Town Hall. Another chance to see this exhibition which has over one hundred paintings by members of Downham Art Circle. Nearly all of the works of art will be for sale. Admission is free.

 

            The Collectors World at HERMITAGE HALL is open again today and there is a special offer of 50p discount on the admission price for all who carry a copy of the Festival Programme when they visit. (One discount per programme.)

 

            ST EDMUND’S CHURCH COFFEE MORNING  and FESTIVAL CAKE CUTTING CEREMONY. The people of St Edmund’s Church, Downham Market’s Parish Church, welcome everyone to the Main Hall of the Town Hall for their Coffee Morning. At 11am the Festival Chairman, Ray Wales, and Town Mayor, Mike Coles, will be exploring ways of Cutting the celebration Festival Cake once again designed and made by Susan Gooding and her staff at KNICAT.

 

            YOUNG PEOPLE’S DISCO in the Town Hall with the Mustard City Roadshow and DJ John Fuller. This disco is especially for those youngsters aged between 5 and 12 years of age and is arranged by the Festival Committee with sponsorship from Wendy Ann’s Flowers. Lots of opportunity for the youngsters to let off a little of that extra steam and dance to the current chart toppers. Games and competitions will be included in the afternoon of fun. There will be a prize for the Best Dressed Disco Dancer. Admission to the afternoon is just 50p per head.

 

            DOWNHAM OTTERS SWIMMING CLUB FOR THE DISABLED – OPEN DAY at the Swimming Pool on the Memorial Playing Field. Spectators are invited to come along and see how the “Otters” enjoy their afternoon. Maybe you would like to become a member or perhaps a “helper”. You will be assured of a friendly welcome. There will no charge to see what goes on.

 

            GRAND FESTIVAL BINGO (Cash Prizes) in Downham Market Town Hall organised by Downham Wives Club. There will be a raffle and refreshments will be on sale. No under 18’s please!
