Admission is by programme, available on the door, priced £2.50. The draw for the Lucky Numbered Festival Programme will take place during the interval of the Hilgay Silver Band Concert. Hilgay Silver Band is proud to have been associated with the Downham Market Festival, as the band has always valued the support of the Downham community. The modern history of the Band has been mirrored by the development of the Downham Festival, so the annual end of Festival Concert is a show-piece for the music that has been prepared for the approaching Summer season. The Band’s new Musical Director, Rowland Smith, has been keen to concentrate on concert performances rather than Brass Band Contests. As a result of this policy the band will be playing at a number of venues in and around the West Norfolk area: including Watlington Church, Park House, Sandringham, and Outwell Church. They hope you will enjoy the varied programme that the Band has prepared for the Festival Concert. Some of the younger players continue to enjoy considerable success in solo and quartet contests all over East Anglia, a tribute to the hard work of Brian Doy, Musical Director of the Training Band, and his team who offer tuition to aspiring players of all ages. Anyone wanting more information about HILGAY SILVER BAND, including prospective members can contact the secretary: Mike Weiler on 01553 770873. FLAG LOWERING CEREMONY on the Market Place.
