Cornish Knitwits

Welcome to the new-look Knitwits web site. We have made a number of changes to reflect those of the club and its members over the past couple of years. Since we closed our clubhouse doors on the regular weekly knitting meetings, we have gathered together once a month to show and tell, share ideas and enjoy each other’s company over a cup of coffee. Several groups of members have started up active knitting “clubs” of their own based mainly in their home towns. This has brought along a few new faces to our monthly meetings. Some of our members took the decision to “retire” from machine knitting and concentrate on other crafts. Our show and tell sessions have recently become as much a showcase for displaying these as they are for showing machine knitting. We have always encouraged diversification as so many crafts can be linked together and this makes for interesting combinations. The current craze for greetings card making, however, has defied interpretation on the knitting machine to date.
Because of the wider interests of our members, we thought it might be a good idea to devote a page to the other crafts they indulge in and give them an opportunity to display them to the wider world. We hope you will find them interesting.
