Cha-Am is known for its long sandy beach lined with Casuarina trees. Deck chairs and beach umbrellas are available for hire. During the week the beach is virtually deserted and at weekends and Thai holidays the residents of Bangkok arrive for a breath of sea air and usually an on beach party. Feel free to join in, you will be made very welcome. The small town is on the opposite side of the main highway. Here you will find the post office, train station and a market bustling with local Thais going about their business. We recommend that you try the exotic fruits and tasty Thai cuisine cooked for you while you wait. Why
not cook yourself a Thai meal at your home, where you will find a recipe
book. As you relax at a beach front restaurant in the evening look out for the twinkling lights of the fishing boats catching your meal for the next day. |
