The Cult of the
Possessed are those men who are crazy for power, and have gone to the
length of selling their souls to Chaos. Corrupted by Wyrdstone,
strange creatures called the Possessed have evolved from mortal men.
They are stonger, bigger, and better in a fight than any other
creature of their size. Even some previously untainted men have begun
to mutate, growing extra arms, tentacles and slowly becoming hideous
monstrosities.
The rest of a
possessed warband is made up of men who want to share some of the
power of the Shadowlord. They worship daemons, carry out sacrifices,
and above all fight to gather Wyrdstone for their masters. Warbands
are led by powerful Magisters who use their Chaos Rituals to turn the
tide of battle.
In general, Possessed
Warband are small in number, but this is made up for by good
characters like the Magister and the really powerful Possessed. The
warband functions best when on the attack, as it has few missile
weapons. The main disadvantage is the small number of warriors. This
means a few lucky rolls on the injury table can rapidly turn things
against you, and force a rout test.
