The Biel-Tan Swordwind Host

This army is not in fact one army, but is made up of a collection of models from David and Vinnie's armies. It is a Swordwind army, which means that it is made up of lots of specialised Aspect Warriors, and these are used to devastating effect...

Guardians

Guardians are the basic eldar troop unit. They are relatively cheap, and their Shuriken catapults can do a lot of damage, especially using rapid fire. However, toughness 3 and a 5+ armour save makes them vulnerable to Bolters, for example.

Grav Platforms

Grav platforms are often included in Guardian units and provide covering fire for the army's advance. This Starcannon has strength 6, AP 4 and heavy 3, making it good for killing lightly armoured foes, much like a Heavy Bolter.

Striking Scorpions

Striking Scorpions are one of the Aspect Warrior squads included in the army. They excel at taking out less well armoured targets. Their chainsword and shuriken pistol combined with mandiblasters give each 3 attacks at strength 4!! Their 3+ armour save makes them considerably more durable than other Eldar, but stops them from fleet footing... They are best used in groups of six, mounted in a Falcon to let them get into combat with the enemy as soon as possible.

Howling Banshees

The Howling Banshee Aspect is one of the most feared. They excel at taking on heavily armoured targets like Terminators and Incubi. With power weapons and the Banshee Mask, they allow no armour save, and the rapid firing Shuriken Pistols can also do a lot of damage at close range. They are usually mounted in a Falcon so they can quickly get to grips with the enemy, but they must have support as they cannot survive more than a single turn on their own.

Guardian Jetbikes

Guardian Jetbikes are a very fast moving force, giving them the flexibility to strike where and when they need to. Their twin-linked Shuriken Catapults can do a lot of damage to lighter targets and backed up with a Shreiker Jetbike or two, they can rapidly take down most infantry.

The Avatar of the Bloody-handed God

The Avatar of the Bloody-Handed God is a terrifying opponent, striding across the battlefield wielding the mighty Wailing Doom. Only in times of great need do the Eldar perform the bloody rituals that awake the Avatar from the heart of the Craftworld. Once awakened, he fills their minds with thoughts of war and destruction, making them lust for bloodshed.

Very few opponents can kill an Avatar, and for only 80 points most Eldar players are overjoyed when the enemy wastes his shooting trying to kill it - even if it dies, the equivalent of only ten guardians has been lost.
