SPEED RECORDS

COUNCIL TAX

HOME

One thing the Council has done for us is, - we can stand on the pavement (but well back) and watch the timber trucks hurtling through the town trying to break the land speed record. As well as tearing up the roads. Even during the Lawson St. road works these trucks ignored instructions and used the diversion route. The drivers are real professionals though, how else can you expect someone to drive whilst holding a mobile in one hand and picking their nose with the other. Granted they don't always use the mobile, sometimes they use their CB radio instead. Or after picking the nose they then eat their sandwiches, while on the mobile/CB. How do the steer? I hear you ask, well have you noticed how big their belly is? It hugs the steering wheel and they move left to right to steer left and right. Good Eh!

I often wonder why the timber is transported by road, when there is a perfectly good railway line which takes it directly passed the works at Workington. A thought for the council!

Lets hear your thoughts on this.
