Well it's some time since the elections were held, did we make the right choice, are the councillors anywhere to be seen?

I suspect that once elected they will keep their head down and their nose in the trough, that is until they need our votes again. Then they will tell us all the wonderful things they have done for ASP atria. (I refer to the Allerdale Councillors not the town council).

There is a new site for Aspatria, I think it was initially set up as a platform to be elected onto the council. Sadly they were not elected and to give them the deserved praise, they have kept the site running. In fact it has grown quite a lot lately. Why not have a look at it, get registered and join the forum. Have your say on the things that matter to you, if you care about your town, then do something about it. As long as you keep it clean and don't have a go at anyone personally, then I think you can say more or less what you think. although I do think that it has a slight bias towards the town councillors.  It has been said that when God created the Earth he started with His first creation right here in Aspatria. He liked what He saw and so Aspatria became the template for the rest of the world. From here all things grew.

God created the people of Aspatria in His own image, everyone here is as friendly as you can get anywhere in the world. The locals welcome their brethren from the locality with open arms. Whether you come from Maryport, Siloth, Wigton or Workington, you can be sure of a warm welcome here in Aspatria.

If God came back to his beloved town in disguise, just to see how the place was getting on, what would he come back as? Maybe he would come back as a young man, possible driving a small car, a Corsa or Nova perhaps. With a large loud exhaust and blacked out windows. Black windows or not, as he is all knowing and seeing he would know when not to pull out of a junction. He would join the others in the Library car park and continue to drive from there to the business park at the east end of the town and back again. Repeating this many times over, but then again God isn't that sad and he doesn't need to compensate for lesser  parts by fixing on a large exhaust!

For those of you who don't believe in God, Why? Because you say how can there be a God, I've never seen him. Well you never see a councillor but you know they exist, who else spends the vast amounts of Council Tax we pay? See COUNCIL TAX on the MENU.

Do you feel sorry for all the YOUNG disabled people? You know the ones, they park outside the HSBC to get cash from the machine, blocking the road, which could cause a serious accident. Or those that park directly outside the Co-op door while their passenger does the shopping. They must be unable to walk the 20 yards from the Co-op car park. Even if they did they would probably park in the disabled bays. The ones at night are the best, they park on the wrong side of the road with their headlights blasting the oncoming traffic. Obviously it must be outsiders. Well, I mean, the people of ASP atria wouldn't do this. Would they? You must wonder about these people!!!!! 

I do know that there are genuine disabled people who park there to get to the cash machine, this is not meant to get at them. In fact most of these actually do park in the car park and walk (if possible). That's if the fitter people have not parked in their bays.
