After using Jack Tidwell's JAVRBasic for a while and juggling between Notepad, Dos prompt and programmer, I thought "there must be a better way".  I tried a couple of other code editors but wasn't happy and thought, "by the time I find a one that I'm happy with, I could have written my own"...  ACIDE

I'm now up to version 3.01 which includes limited project support and allows drag and drop operations.  A new installation will preconfigure itself (almost!) for use with JavrBasic, AvrAsm and AVR_GCC. So, for example, if you open a C file, pressing F9 should build it and you then program the chip using the programmer you have defined.

06/06/2000 : Fixed minor bug in switching between project files with F6; changes to the previous file are now saved before switching!!!

For more details check... ACIDE 3.0 User Manual

Then download a copy from my downloads page

Regards still go out to Jack Tidwell (author of JavrBasic) for testing and inspiration, quite a few of the user interface bits'n'bobs were suggested by Jack.
